Before she married her ex-husband Madhu Mantena, her daughter and fashion designer Masaba Gupta claimed that her mother Neena had forbidden her from doing live-in.

For those who don’t know, Neena and her ex-partner, former cricketer Viv Richards, have a daughter together. The veteran had her daughter outside of marriage, and she has always been open with the media and her followers about her challenges as a single mother.

In the most recent scoop, Masaba Gupta, the daughter of Neena Gupta, was interviewed by Twinkle Khanna on Tweak India about her mother’s refusal to allow her live with her ex-husband before their marriage.

Masaba Gupta said, “She was like isne to chalu kia aur khatam bhi hogaya, 2 saal huye hain, kujh time nahi bitaya (Neena was like it started and ended too soon, they had not spent much time together). I wanted to live-in with my ex-husband before getting married. She said no. She said, ‘I have made this mistake, and you are not going to make this mistake. If you are sure about it, just get married.’ She literally packed my things and sent me over the day the court marriage was done. Get out. She said when people are not married, they have the option to leave very easily.”

In addition, the designer discussed how her mother, Neena Gupta, experienced grief following the dissolution of her first marriage, saying, “She was very, very traditional in that part of my life. She didn’t want me to experience what she did. I think it was my fault, and I should have let you do what you were doing and live together so you could have worked things out, she admitted. I should have given you a little nudge and paid more attention, she said. I entered that tragic chapter in the mother’s life of an actor and said, “I am a bad mother.”

Masaba Gupta said that she got married because everyone else around her was doing so.
