Need Guts to remake a movie like Premam – Nag

Premam, in Malayalam became a huge box office hit and earned fans from all over the country. In Chennai, the movie ran for 225 days and each and every actor from the movie got huge recognition. The film turned into a cult classic giving Nivin Pauly wider reach and Sai Pallavi as Malar became an overnight star. The film is remade in Telugu with same title with Naga Chaitanya. The real surprise element for all the telugu viewers who saw the original and doubted Chaitanya, was mind blown with his acting performance in the film. Chandoo Mondeti gave credit to the original creator Alphonse Puthiren by not just trying to use his ideas but catching the soul in them and making a beautiful and respectable remake.

Akkineni Nagarjuna has always been vocal about the success of Premam and today he came with the team to Thank audience and press at Dasapalla Hotel. Joining him were Naga Chaitanya, Noel Sean, Producer Naga Vamsi, Director Chandoo Mondeti, Comedian Praveen. Nagarjuna interacting with press said that after watching the first copy of the film he was happy with the film and when producer said he might change the release date as he wants to reshoot few scenes for betterment, he felt very happy. He further added rather than keeping a date in mind and running behind it, it is better to delay and make a film that crew is all confident before release itself.

Nag was all praises for Chandoo Mondeti and wished to work with him. He enquired if he was his fan and director agreed smiling. The director, in fact never hid the fact and he was glad that Nag asked to make a movie with him. Chaitanya addressing the press thanked Vamsi, Praveen, Chandoo, Karthik Ghattamaneni, Srinivas Reddy, Sruthi Haasan, Madonna, Anupama and others for being a part of the film and making it a success. He said it was tough for him to play the younger role and he also assured that he will try and experiment further too while doing romantic films as well.

Producer addressing the media said that the film collected 21 crores share in 2 weeks and they are extremely happy with the box office performance. Chandu took the stage and thanked all his team and Chaitanya for being a support through out the film. Nag further appreciated Chaitanya, by saying, “Well Done, Chay!”. Candidly he agreed the better cameo was written for Venkatesh and immediately Chandu expressed his gratitude to the star veteran for being a part of their film. When a journalist asked Nag if he agrees to the dialogue in the movie, we have all the patent rights for cycle chain, he reciprocated saying, “Yes, we do !”. Well, through out the interaction Nag looked elated and shared his experience that during the same age with Geetanjali he started designing his path in the movies, and wished his son too would do the same after Premam.
