Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, ex-Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh state requested, current Chief Minister, Mr. YS Jaganmohan Reddy to establish a musical university in the name of Shri. SP Balasubramanyam. He stated that the legendary singer has brought great pride to the Telugu people all over the world and him being from AP state should and from Telugu land, should be honoured by the Government. He also stated that Shri. SP Balasubramanyam did not just sing 40,000 songs or made a name for himself Internationally, but he also helped many young singers throughout later stages of his career.
So, to honour his memory and one of his last wishes, AP Government should announce a musical university, stated Nara Chandra Babu Naidu. Well, the senior most political leader has a point and may be Indian Government should also consider this suggestion. SPB sang restlessly for 5 decades in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Sinhalese and 6 more languages. His contribution to music industry in India should be honoured by fulfilling his last wish to see many more talented musicians coming up and taking Indian music to the World stage. Let’s hope it will happen soon.
