The ceremony for this year’s National Film Awards took place today, with the new President, Shri Draupadi Murmu, handing away the awards to the winners. Of the list of winners, it is important to note that Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru has won several awards, including Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Film.
Suriya was present along with his wife Jyothika, at the event, and the two received the awards for Best actor and Best film, respectively. On the other hand, Ajay Devgn has also been awarded the award for Best Actor, for his performance in the film Tanhaji, which has also received the award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
From Telugu, Naatyam has been awarded Best Choreography and Best Makeup, Ala Vaikuntapuramlo has been awarded Best Music Director for SS Thaman, and Colour Photo has been awarded Best Feature Film in Telugu.
