Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi Mourn Krishna’s Demise

Legendary Telugu cinema actor Krishna’s sudden demise has left the entire film and political circles in shock. It is widely known that the 79-year-old actor was elected as a Member of Parliament for the Congress Party in 1989. Not only film stars but even renewed politicians across twin Telugu states are expressing their condolences to the bereaved family.

Even the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi took to Twitter and mourned Krishna’s demise and extended condolences to Krishna’s son Mahesh Babu and other family members.”Krishna Garu was a legendary superstar, who won hearts of people through his versatile acting and lively personality. Om Shanti.”, tweeted Narendra Modi in the afternoon hours of November 15th.

On the other hand, the National Congress Party leader Rahul Gandhi posted “Deeply saddened by the news of the passing away of Telugu cinema superstar, Ghattamaneni Krishna ji. His unmatched professional discipline and work ethics set an example on conduct in public life. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fans.”on his official Twitter handle.

In the span of a five-decade film career, Krishna acted in close to 350 films. In 2016, Krishna announced his retirement from films and politics. Sri Sri was Krishna’s last film as an actor. In 2009, the government of India honored Krishna with Padma Bhushan for his contributions to Indian cinema.
