At the Directors Day event in Hyderabad, held on Dasari Narayana Rao’s birth anniversary veteran actor-director Narayana Murthy shared his views on the film industry.
He said there are very few big releases now, even during key seasons like summer.
He recalled how legends like Krishna and Dasari made multiple films every year, which is not seen today.
Now, actors and directors often take two to three years for one film. While big projects like Rajamouli’s need time, many others are also taking too long.
Murthy stressed that regular releases are important for the industry’s health. Earlier stars like Chiranjeevi delivered many films yearly but now top actors struggle to release even one affecting theatres and audiences.
