Nani opens up about remakes

Natural Star Nani is gearing up for his first theatrical release in two years, and for the release of his biggest film so far. Shyam Singha Roy, directed by Rahul Sankrityan, is all set to be released in all the South Indian languages, on December 24th. The film carries a good buzz around it and is a major player for Nani, who faced two failures in the last two years.

While SSR is releasing in all the South Indian languages, the makers opted not to release it in Hindi, and there are even reports that the remake rights of the film are already being talked about. Nani’s other film, Jersey, is also being remade in Hindi currently under the same name, with Shahid Kapoor in the lead role. Talking about the same, Nani said that he is excited to see Shahid’s take on the film and on the role and that he always watches remade movies.

However, Nani clarified that he wouldn’t be interested in being part of any remakes, as he wouldn’t then feel the same way about a film, as the role he’s playing was already done by someone else. On the other hand, Sai Pallavi, Krithi Shetty and Madonna Sebastian are also a part of Shyam Singha Roy.
