Nandamuri Kalyan Ram hasn’t capitalized on the success he got with the movie 118. This year he has done the movie Entha Manchivadavura. This family entertainer released for the Sankranthi season but failed to attract the audiences. Kalyan Ram has taken some time off and agreed to a movie in the direction of Venu Mallidi. Titled Thuglak, this periodic drama is set up in the 13th century. Kalyan Ram is taking a huge risk in producing such a big budget entertainer. He has planned to make this movie with a whopping Rs. 20 Crores.
Before lockdown, shooting got started and even a short schedule was completed. They have even erected a special set worth Rs. 2 Crores in Hyderabad for their lengthy schedule. But then the pandemic started. All these days due to the lockdown, cast and crew haven’t seen that set in these four months.
Now, it is said that the set is not suitable for shooting anymore. They need to repair the set to a large extent which is a huge burden for Kalyan Ram.
