No kidding! That the wheelchair which Nagarjuna is seated on throughout Oopiri, in which he plays a quadriplegic millionaire who is incapacitated below the neck post a skydiving accident, was bought at a cost of Rs 25 lakh by the makers, it is learnt.
Apaprently, the makers initially planned to rent a wheelchair but later decided to buy it as it would make shooting schedules more flexible. The chair, which is state-of-the-art and has latest technology used, was specially designed for the actor and was imported from Sweden just for the film.
Well, if the first day collection of Rs 3.5 crore is anything to go by, it seems the bet has paid off. The film could be considered a risk for the producers but steady openings and a huge release in two languages seems to be playing a huge beneficial factor now.
