Akkineni Nagarjuna has become one of the top leading men in Telugu Cinema over the years with sheer hard work and different choices. He made sure that his styling and characters would be unique from film to film. He also changed his path with Manam and started to appear in those roles only which he deemed to have some uniqueness. Nagarjuna surprised everyone by taking up a challenging role of a quadriplegic patient in Oopiri and immediately signing to play a devotee, Hathi Ram Bavaji, in Om Namo Venkatesaya.
The devotional movie, Om Namo Venkatesaya, directed by K Raghavendra Rao, did put brakes on his acceleration at the box office but he did not revert back to trying out a popular masala entertainer again. He chose to experiment even more with a mentalist role for his next, Raju Gari Gadhi 2. The film is a remake of Malayalam movie, Pretham, starring Jayasurya and Aju Varghese.
In the original, the mentalist character played by Jayasurya, sported a bald look and everybody were interested if Nag would try out same. But the actor decided against it and he will be sporting a normal look for the movie. His character will be highly interesting in the film and movie will run balancing horror and comedy elements. As we speak, movie is in its second schedule of production in Pondicherry. Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Vennela Kishore are participating in the shoot along with Nagarjuna.
