After Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, Telugu star Akkineni Nagarjuna has also approached the court to protect his personality rights.
He complained about three issues, pornographic websites misusing his name, unauthorized sale of merchandise with his image, and misleading YouTube videos.
The Delhi High Court gave an oral response in his favour, saying, “If you can identify the URLs, we will direct them to take down. Orders will be passed”. The matter is set for the next hearing on January 23.
Nagarjuna’s lawyer argued that several YouTube shorts and promotional videos are damaging his image. He requested the court to safeguard his personality rights.
The court also noted that once material is uploaded online, generative AI models can pick it up, making misuse even easier.
