Naga Vamsi Reveals Truth Behind War 2 Losses

Despite huge pre-release hype, War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, failed at the box office and ended up as a disappointment.

The poor performance led to many rumors about big losses for Telugu distributor and producer Naga Vamsi, who handled the AP and Telangana release.

Clearing the air, Naga Vamsi explained that the Telugu rights were bought for Rs. 68 crore, excluding GST, which was already paid by Yash Raj Films before release. The film earned only about Rs. 35–40 crore share in Telugu states, resulting in losses.

However, Yash Raj Films stepped in and refunded Rs. 18 crore after release, as part of a pre-agreed deal to cover losses.

With this support, the final loss was limited to around Rs. 10–15 crore, much lower than the rumors suggested.
