The much-anticipated Naga Chaitanya’s #NC23 film has unveiled its title as “Thandel,” stirring curiosity among fans. The term “Thandel” holds significance in the world of Gujarati coastal communities, where it refers to the revered captain of a commercial marine fishing boat. These captains, known as Thandels, play a crucial role in locating fishing grounds and skillfully guiding their crew for a safe and fruitful voyage.
In this upcoming film, Naga Chaitanya portrays a fishing boat operator from Srikakulam, set in a vintage era. His character navigates his crew all the way from Srikakulam to Gujarat, earning the endearing title of Thandel from his crew, akin to being addressed as ‘captain.’
The recently released posters not only intrigued audiences with their captivating design but also confirmed Devi Sri Prasad as the composer and Sai Pallavi as the film’s leading lady. Director Chandoo Mondeti and his team have reportedly invested significant effort in researching and crafting an authentic script for the project.
