Nagarjuna Akkineni started off his career at a time when mass films are ruling the roost. He delivered hits like Vikram, Collector gari Abbayi, Kirayi Dada, Vicky Dada, Chinababu, Akhari Poratam in the genre. He diverged from them with Geetanjali and Shiva which became cult classics. Even though he struggled to mix class and mass a bit for few years, he changed it with great balance as Allari Alludu, Rakshana, President Gari Pellam, Hello Brother, Gharana Bullodu became hits. But Allari Alludu remains his perfect mass hit till date.
Now, when Naga Chaitanya needs a mass hit to improve his box office stamina, he chose to follow his father’s route of being Telugu’s favourite Alludu, who does anything for his Attha. In Shailaja Reddy Alludu, he turns from a lover boy to a tough guy to help his Aunty, the mother of his love Anu Emmanuel, played by Ramyakrishnan satisfy her ego to help poor against the evil perpetrations.
Well, the film has enough masala and good mixture of mass and class for Naga Chaitanya it seems. While Anu Baby song shows how classy his love is, posters suggest how massy his character will turn in the movie. The movie has been locked to release on 31st August while his Savyasachi will release for 2nd November.
