Naga Chaitanya, Sumanth has the looks of their grandfather, Akkineni Nageswara Rao. They look more like him from his younger days in many angles. Nagarjuna looks more like his mother and that is one of the reasons why he never tries to imitate his father on a screen beside trying to be individual and different from him. We saw the chemistry of ANR, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya when they played characters in Manam movie.
In 100% Love, Naga Chaitanya did make an entry as ANR in a song. For a long time, Mahanati makers, are waiting for Jr. NTR and Naga Chaitanya to accept the roles of ANR and NTR in the film. As Savitri, the actress on whom the movie is based on, is a constant collaborator in their films, having them and mentioning them is a must for the film. Without them, it would feel awkward and incomplete. So, the team decided to go for different actors or even try digitally adding the old scenes of the movies in the film.
Finally, Akkineni Naga Chaitanya, accepted to be part of Mahanati and his shoot will start this week and then he might have to give go to the sets 5 to 7 days, to complete his work. The team is hoping Jr. NTR aka Tarak to give a green signal too. Naga Ashwin is directing the film and Keerthi Suresh is playing the role of Savitri in the movie. Shalini Pandey, Mohan Babu, Samantha Akkineni, Dulquer Salmaan are also part of the cast. The movie is produced by Ashwini Dutt and the film could release in May.
