Premam has been the iconic success that only few can dream off. Even though it was a Malayalam movie it became a phenomenon South India wide. It gave Nivin Pauly the recognition he deserved for such a fine performance and it launched the careers of Madonna Sebastian, Anupama Parameshwaran and mainly Sai Pallavi. Sai Pallavi as Malar teacher saw an overnight success that only few could even imagine and her fans have been increasing with each day.

Even though Premam does have a similar kind of story line with Cheran’s Autograph, this movie is more slice of life and more fun than the overly dramatic Cheran’s version. Especially, Chennai youth lapped up the movie so much that it played for 255 days in Chennai. So when a remake was announced of that iconic movie, everyone were highly skeptical about the remake quality and Sruthi Hasan took the burnt of being Malar miss in first round of promotional activities with Evare song. She responded to the trolls, mainly from Chennai youth, saying, “My work will be different from the original and hope people would be more patient!”.

After the theatrical trailer release, now even Naga Chaitanya, is receiving lot more trolls for his portrayal of the younger version. Reacting to them, Naga Chaitanya said, ” Premam is a movie that I worked hard and when our labour of love is trolled like this, we do get hurt! Our intention is to give the movie a proper tribute and tell the story in telugu, but this is not what we expect. Hope people will change their opinion after watching the movie!”.
