Nag Ashwin Praises Kamal Haasan’s Pushpak As The Original “Pan-India” Film

At the Apoorva Singeetham retrospective film festival, Director Nag Ashwin praised Kamal Haasan‘s silent film “Pushpak”, directed by the legendary Singeetam Srinivasa Rao.

He described it as the original “pan-India” film. Nag Ashwin expressed his admiration for “Pushpak” highlighting how it was ahead of its time and still feels timeless today.

He also acknowledged the special collaboration between Ulaganayagan and Singeetam Srinivasa Rao calling it extraordinary.

Released in 1987 “Pushpak” is celebrated for its unique storytelling and its ability to connect with audiences from different cultures.

Nag Ashwin’s tribute honored both Singeetam Srinivasa Rao’s vision and Kamal’s remarkable performance in the silent film.
