Mythri Movie Makers, the producers of Allu Arjun and director Sukumar’s Pushpa: The Rise, the first part of the planned two parts of the movie franchise, faced a lot of financial troubles in the lead up to the release of Pushpa: The Rise, as they had sold the film’s rights way before the release of the film. Luckily though, they managed to come out of it unscathed, as the film performed beyond expectations in the Hindi and Tamil markets.
The work on the second part of the film, Pushpa: The Rule, is yet to begin, with director Sukumar currently feeling unwell. The script work for the second part is expected to begin once Sukumar starts feeling well, and the shooting of the second part is expected to begin in March.
On the other hand, Mythri Movie Makers are currently said to be changing their strategy for the release of the second part of Pushpa, by deciding to sell the rights of the second part only after the release of the film. Bunny is also said to be planning to promote the second part of the film well in the Tamil and Hindi regions, due to the performance of the first part in those markets.
