Producer Dil Raju was the first one to start the crossover between Kollywood and Tollywood, when he signed on Tamil actor Vijay for a film, to be directed by Vamsi Paidipally. The shooting for this film has been going on for a few weeks now, and is in its last stages now. The film is being made as a bilingual and will be released in Tamil and Telugu. Titled Vaarasudu, Rashmika Mandanna is the leading lady of this film.
It is now being said that Vijay has almost confirmed a deal with yet another production house in Telugu. Mythri Movie Makers are said to have given Vijay an advance quite some time ago, for a film, and this film is now expected to be directed by Atlee. Atlee is expected to work on the script once he is done with Jawaan, in which he will be directing Shah Rukh Khan.
Given that Vamsi Paidipally’s film hasn’t even released yet, and the fact that Vijay doesn’t really have a huge market in the Telugu states, it is indeed a huge risk for Mythri Movie Makers, to have decided to bring Vijay on board, that too with a Tamil director, for a straight Telugu film.
