Tharun Bhascker, who wrote and directed, Pelli Choopulu is back with his second film, Ee Nagaraniki Emaiyyindi. The young director talked to a reputed media outlet about the time he took to make this film and how he tried to overcome the expectations created with Pelli Choopulu’s massive success. He said, “I and my team, knew that Pelli Choopulu has become a beast for us to follow up. It is like that the film is laughing at us, how can you top me. We thought rather than trying to top it, we should go with a new and better idea to make a comedy.”
He continued, “This time we are targeting the young diaspora and this is not Pelli Choopulu in any sense. We recently screened it for few people and the response, we gathered is that the movie is better than Pelli Choopulu. We tried to avoid any references to my previous movie and also changed the style of framing by using old style lensing with Nikhet Bommi. I worked with him for the first time and he is very good at what he can pull off. Vivek Sagar and whole Tapeloop return to score for the movie.”
About the story, he said, “We have done a buddy comedy with a group young short filmmakers who travel from Hyderabad to Goa, to make and explore their concept. I used my memories and discussed with my friends from my short filmmaking days to come up with the script.” Vishwak Sen and Anisha Ambrose are playing the lead roles and all others are selected after a month long audition trails. Movie is presented by Suresh Productions and it will soon release after the summer rush is over.
