AR Rahman recently discussed nepotism in an interview , stating that if his children “won’t carry on his legacy, his entire setup will turn into a godown.” Rahman continued, “People nowadays have picked up this new phrase, nepotism. If my kids aren’t interested, all of this things I’ve made, this entire planet, will turn into a godown! In my studio, every step, inch of every wall, and chair have been chosen with such passion and care that I hope they will eventually succeed me.
In the interview, AR Rahman, the girl’s pleased father, gushed about how hard his daughter had been working in the music industry. She has really performed a number of well-known songs, including the Tamil version of the Ponniyin Selvan II song Chinnanjiru (Marumurai), the Telugu version of Minnanchula Vennelaa (Reprise), and the Hindi version of Mera Aasmaan Jal Gaya (Reprise).
Khatija married Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed, a live sound engineer for AR Rahman, last year.

The Oscar-winning musician revealed in the interview that he instills in his children the value of continuing his legacy. Rahman further said that any money he left for anyone will inevitably vanish in a day if the owner is not intelligent enough and does not comprehend the legacy. He also discussed the types of financial difficulties his mother, sisters, and he had to face and how all of that had influenced who he is today. Rahman claimed, “Even now, those encounters support the judgements I do. Since I don’t think it’s right to keep any negative information or problems from my children, I genuinely want them to be informed of all that is happening. . I even inform them if I get a loan for a building and the mortgage I’m paying. This is not to torture them, but only to make them learn.”
Currently, AR Rahman is working on his new project which is a film with Mani Ratnam starring legendary actor Kamal Haasan. At the same time, he has many other Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu films in his pipeline
