In the past couple of years, Telugu cinema has faced criticism for its monotonous music, with top musicians accused of delivering routine tunes and mediocre background scores, regardless of the film’s budget or leading star heroes. However, there seems to be a change in the air, albeit at a significant cost.
Renowned music composer Anirudh has established a monopoly in Tamil cinema, composing music for tier-one heroes whose films have become sensational hits. His background scores, in particular, have struck a chord with audiences. In light of this, star heroes in Telugu cinema are now insisting on having Anirudh on board for their films and pressuring producers to sign him.
However, it has come to light that Anirudh is demanding an exorbitant remuneration, almost on par with that of a tier-two star hero. Despite the producers having no other choice due to the heroes’ demands, they have reluctantly agreed to pay the extravagant fee.
Anirudh has previously composed music for Telugu films like Pawan Kalyan’s “Agnyathavaasi” and “Jersey.” Now, audiences eagerly await to see if his magic works in Telugu cinema as it did in Vikram’s “Beast,” Vijay’s “Master,” and other successful films. Anirudh has officially signed on to compose music for Vijay Deverakonda’s “12” directed by Gowtham Thinnanuri, as well as NTR’s “Devara,” and is reportedly in talks for three other movies.
