“I never thought about just doing the same things that my father and grandfather have done. I am trying to make my mark but I have to live up to their legacy and star status. Mr. Majnu is some kind of a tribute to their image as romantic legends and that too by a team which loves them,” said Akhil in an interview about Mr. Majnu.
He further said, “I cannot think ahead of myself and just predict the outcome of all films. I am trying to learn the art. Since, I am a novice, I could handle the big disaster I faced with my debut and it made me strong. I started approaching craft even more focused and confident. Mr. Majnu is important to me at this juncture more than a little later in my career.”
His film, Mr. Majnu is releasing on 25th January and the young actor is hopeful to finally find the success at box office with the film. He said, “This film is not a single track love story. It is more of a mixture of Manmadhudu and Santhosham. People will get all the entertainment with humour quotient in the film throughout. Venky Atluri is a big fan of Akkineni Nageswara Rao garu and my dad Nagarjuna garu. He said that he took lot of inspiration from their films and you can see that in the film, too.”
He concluded saying, “I want the box Office gods to be kind on this film and try many more films- different themes, like my dad, to shine as an actor. As they say, you always need a start of inspiration, I hope this movie will be that.”.
