Remaking hit films is common, and using the same title for new movies is equally popular. However, selecting a title today is challenging, as it needs to match the story and theme. Sometimes, filmmakers choose to reuse old titles, but their success varies. Here are some examples:
In 2001, Pawan Kalyan and Bhumika starred in the movie Kushi, which was a massive hit. After 22 years, Vijay Devarakonda used the same title for his movie in 2023, starring Samantha as the heroine. However, this movie did not achieve the same level of success as Pawan’s Kushi.
This was Pawan Kalyan’s debut movie in 1996 and had moderate success. After 28 years, the same title was used for Pradeep’s movie. This film received positive responses but did not have huge success.
Nithin’s Ishq was a huge hit, but Teja Sajja’s Ishq failed at the box office.
The movie starring NTR and Krishna titled Devudu Chesina Manushulu was a hit, whereas the version with Ravi Teja and Puri Jagannadh was a failure.
Chiranjeevi’s Rudraveena was a meaningful movie but a box-office disaster. Later, the same title was used for another film, which passed unnoticed.

Released in 1980, Sankarabharanam was a classic movie. A 2015 remake with Nikhil failed miserably.
