Most Eligible Bachelor Movie Review and Rating!

Akhil Akkineni and Pooja Hegde’s Most Eligible Bachelor is one of the most awaited movies releasing during this Dussehra season. Directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar, the film has hit the screens today. Let’s analyse it.

Story: Being a well-settled NRI, Harsha( Akhil Akkineni) comes to Hyderabad to get arranged married. In match making process, Harsha comes across Vibha(Pooja Hegde), a stand-up comedian in Hyderabad. Though the family rejects Vibha’s match, Harsha likes Vibha’s independent attitude. How will Harsha manage to impress Vibha? Will he able to convince his family to marry Vibha? Forms rest of the tale.

Performances: Star heroine Pooja Hegde is definitely a major plus for the film but her role in not designed in a proper manner. Performance wise, Pooja did justice to her character that has an emotional touch to it.

Akhil is alright in his NRI role but his look and hairdo has not been designed in a convincing way. He tried to convey various emotions in a decent manner.

Murali Sharma, Srikanth Iyengar, Aamani, Pragathi, Jayaprakash are okay in their given supporting roles. Other actors who did other cameo roles are fine with their performances.

Rahul Ravindran and his wife cum singer Chinmayi are okay in their extended cameo appearances.

Technicalities: Cinematography by Pradeesh Varma is fine as he tried to present the film with quality framing.

Music by Gopi Sundar is alright as three montage songs are good to listen to on the screen. His background score is decent and elevates a few key scenes nicely.

Editing by Marthand K Venkatesh is not up to the mark. Production values for his star-studded movie are good.

Analysis: Director Bommarillu Bhaskar’s has showcased a few ideas regarding the marriage life, he failed to present the core concept in an engaging manner. While making a film about understandings in the marriage cycle, the director should have taken care of writing a good screenplay which is totally missing in Most Eligible Bachelor.

On the other hand, lack of strong characterizations is also a major minus for the film. Though the lead pair gave a decent performance, the chemistry between them is not executed in a gripping manner. Apart from a very fewer scenes, the romantic angle between the lead pair is totally neglected in the movie.

To summerize, Most Eligible Bachelor is a romantic family drama that fails to impress the audience in every aspect.

Verdict: Diluted romance!

Rating: 2/5
