Manchu Vishnu has been searching for success for a long time. Apart from a couple of films, his career has no highs. However, he pinned all his hopes on the Mosagallu which is said to be based on a real-life scam. Manchu Vishnu has been saying great things about the film. Now, let us have a look at the movie and see whether the film meets the expectations.

Story: Arjun (Manchu Vishnu) and Anu (Kajal Aggarwal) are siblings. They along with Sid (Naveen Chandra) and Vijay (Navdeep) form a group and do a multi-million dollar scam. Their scam involves in the name of a USA government agency. With the scam exposed, the US anti-corruption department is behind them.

The rest of Mosagallu is about how the government and officials are after this group and will they find the culprits.

Performances: Manchu Vishnu looks good in this movie. He has given an honest performance. Kajal Aggarwal is the main attraction to the movie. A heroine playing sibling to a hero should be commended. Kajal’s looks are one of the positives of the film. She has performed well too. Naveen Chandra and Navdeep played supporting characters and they are good. Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has played an important role. Though his role is okay, his character lacks conviction. It was poorly written. There is nothing to say about the rest of the cast.

Technicalities: Sam CS’s background score is one of the very few positive points about the movie. He tried to elevate many clueless scenes with his background score. Editing could have been better. Cinematography is good in parts. Though the story is good, the screenplay lacks logic in many places. Cinematic liberties have been taken to their wish.

Direction by Jeffrey Gee Chin lacks conviction. For most of the film, his direction looks clueless. Manchu Vishnu has said that he has spent Rs. 50 Crores on this film but that doesn’t seem to be true by looking at the production values in the movie.

Analysis: Scam thrillers is one of the rare genres explored in Telugu Cinema. Manchu Vishnu has lost a golden opportunity. Looks like he has selected the wrong director. Jeffrey’s making lacks nativity. The film failed from the writing stage. Many scenes looked illogical. The screenplay could have been a lot better. The crucial scam episodes were dealt with in a poor way. Overall, Manchu Vishnu has to bag another flop in his career.

Rating : 2/5
