Theatrical release of Telugu films seems to be highly unlikely to happen within to two to three months time. This is increasing the debit amounts for the producers and even though most of them want to have a theatrical release as distributors and exhibitors don’t want to lose out on possible revenues, surmounting debit is making them to look at realistic options like Satellite rights sales and OTT release, it seems. They are negotiating with big players and new ones in the market about the exclusivity of the content and to host them as premieres, it seems. Even the staff of these OTT companies are not being able to join the workforce at full stretch, hence no one is getting any heavy assurances yet.
But the talks are on, it seems. While Dil Raju kind of producers don’t want to see their theatres suffer too much due to lack of no releases, some filmmakers think it is better to have some release, than no release it seems. Ravikanth Parepu, who made Kshanam with Adivi Sesh is coming up with his next, Krishna and His Leela. This movie will release on OTT platforms say major reports. Along with this one, Keerthy Suresh’s next, Anushka Shetty’s Nishabdam could be looking at OTT release, say sources. Will that be the case? Let’s wait and see.
