Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s comeback film, Vakeel Saab has completed its first weekend run at the box office. As per the initial reports from trade circles, the film has managed to collect more than Rs 60 crore worldwide share and recovered close to 70% of its investment.
But the litmus test for Vakeel Saab starts from today as the film has to collect approximately Rs 30 crore more to be a safe bet for the buyers and emerge as a clean hit at the box office.
Already, the buyers in Andhra Pradesh lost heavily during the crucial first weekend due to the state government’s new GO regarding the ticket prices. As the film has a long way to achieve break, the exhibitors and distributors across various regions in AP are pinning hopes on the crucial Monday figures. If Vakeel Saab passes the Monday test with flying colours, it will brighten chances to post good numbers by the end of its first week with an added advantage of the Ugadi festival holiday.
Touted as an intense courtroom drama, this Venu Sriram directorial has Nivetha Thomas, Anjali, Prakash Raj and Ananya Nagalla in key roles. Thaman’s background score for the film has been receiving tremendous applause from all quarters.
