With his wife Suchithra, Mohanlal celebrated his birthday at his home in Kochi.
On his 63rd birthday on Sunday, businessman Alex K. Varghese of Hedge Equities, a stockbroking company for which the actor is the brand ambassador, gave Malayalam superstar Mohanlal a Kia EV 6 worth Rs 72 lakh.
With his wife Suchithra, Mohanlal celebrated his birthday at his home in Kochi. Shibu Baby John, a close friend and former Kerala minister, and actor-director Major Ravi joined him at his home for the celebrations.
Mohanlal, one of the most diverse performers in Malayalam cinema, made his screen debut at the age of 18 in the film “Thiranottam” (which was delayed for several years due to technical problems before being released).
He was featured as an adversary in the 1980 film “Manjil Virinja Pookal,” directed by Fazil (the father of rising pan-Indian actor Fahadh Faasil), which ended up being his formal debut film. After this, the talented actor didn’t look back, portraying a number of characters that were irreplaceable.
In the 1980s, Mohanlal starred as a jobless young man from the middle class in films like “TP Balagopalan MA,” “Nadodikattu,” and “Gandhi Nagar Second Street.” In subsequent films like “Devasuram,” “Aram Thamburan,” “Abhimanyu,” and “Aryan,” he developed a macho persona.
Additionally, his performances in films like “Thanmathra” and “Bharatham” are remembered by the general public as genre-defining.
