Korean Kanakaraju has become a box office success and given Varun Tej a much needed comeback. Directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, the film worked mainly because of its comedy and Varun Tej’s energetic performance.
However, the director has a few areas to improve for sure. The excessive VFX, especially in the climax, looks artificial and affects the overall experience.
The film could have ended earlier instead of adding unnecessary action.
Varun Tej’s two characters also had strong potential, but the writing did not fully explore the contrast between the innocent villager and ghost gangster.
The second half needed stronger hero moments and emotional scenes. While the comedy worked, the film lacked depth and drama. Gandhi can balance these elements better in his future projects.
