Mehreen Pirzada, made a successful debut with actor Nani, in the film, Krishna Gadi Veera Prema Gadha. The movie gave her good name and fame among Telugu audience. But she started taking very cautious steps in signing the films as she was not seen announcing many films after her successful debut. She auditioned for Phillauri, produced by Anushka Sharma and surprised even herself by landing a role in the movie.
The actress revealed this in a media interaction. She said, “I did not even know that I have auditioned for the part until, the director, Anshai Lal, introduced himself to me as the director of the film. Actually, when I went in for the audition, I was asked to interact with the group of individuals there and on the next day, when I was called to talk further details that I was talking to the director and his team. Apparently, he liked my confidence and thought to be perfect for the role.”
She also said, “I took inspiration from Anushka Sharma from Jab Tak Hai Jaan and continued on my journey to pursue my dream. If I would not become an actor I would have become a National Air Pistol shooter. I used to go with my cousin to shooting lessons and found great interest in the sport.” Her favourite actresses apart from Anushka were Karishma Kapoor and Kajol. With a dream to become actress one day she walked the ramp and won Princess of Kasauli title at the age of 10. She soon could be signing a Yash Raj Film too.
