Megastar Chiranjeevi is one of the stalwarts of Indian Cinema and ruled Tollywood for nearly 3 decades. He still enjoys unparalleled stardom in Tollywood, and fans are still awestruck by the magic he weaves on the screen. While fans were extremely delighted when he announced his return to films, they were also equally disappointed when it was announced that Chiranjeevi would make his comeback with a remake. Chiranjeevi’s comeback film also marked his 150th film -Khaidi No 150, which was a remake of the Tamil film Katthi.
Post that, Chiranjeevi entertained the audiences with an original film like Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, and is currently working on another original, Acharya, directed by Koratala Siva. However, Chiranjeevi has several remakes coming up after this. While the actor planned on remaking the Malayalam film Lucifer, the latest reports suggest that the actor has decided to drop the idea, as he’s not certain about the audiences reaction to the film.
Now, sources say that Chiranjeevi is planning to remake the Tamil film Yennai Arindhal in Telugu, with director Sujeeth directing it. Sujeeth was previously speculated to direct Chiranjeevi in the remake of Lucifer, but that fell through. Interestingly, Yennai Arindhal was dubbed into Telugu as Yenthavaadu Gaani. Given that the film has already been dubbed into Telugu, it may not be the best idea for Chiranjeevi to remake the film. Fans also feel that it’s high time the actor focuses on original films, rather than on remakes.
