The format became a smash hit in Hindi, Kaun Banega Crorepati with Amitabh Bachchan as the host.After many years, the format was introduced with slight changes in different languages. Among the regional versions, only Telugu version, Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu was able to repeat the success of the Hindi version in India.
