Medha Rana To Star Opposite Varun Dhawan

In a bold casting decision the makers of Border 2 have signed newcomer Medha Rana to star opposite Varun Dhawan in the much-anticipated war drama.

Produced by T-Series and J.P. Films the film is set for a grand release on January 23rd 2026, during the Republic Day weekend.

Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is a follow-up to the 1997 classic Border. While it honors the original’s patriotic spirit the sequel brings a fresh story and cast.

Medha, from an Army background was chosen for her authenticity, emotional depth and command over regional dialect qualities the producers prioritized over star power.

Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta believe her pairing with Varun Dhawan will bring sincerity and realism.

The film also features Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty with other actresses like Sonam Bajwa and Mouni Roy reportedly in talks. Border 2 promises emotion, action, and patriotic pride.
