May 4th to be Director’s Day

Few people manage to work so well, that their talent and hard work helps them to reach a position that no one could. Such people are called legends and icons of that field. Dasari Narayana Rao is an iconic legend of Telugu Cinema. He is the Guinness Record holder for directing most number of films and also, the only director to have written all of them. He made sure that many youngsters who wants a chance to get into films can meet him or anyone in his team easily, to get an access, if they are talented enough.

He introduced Sri Hari, Mohan Babu, gave life to actors like Suresh, Murali Mohan and he is even considered as the man who could bring out the best of actors from all generation Superstars until the 90’s. His films have been the best for NTR, ANR, Krishna in later half of their careers and for Nagarjuna and Venkatesh, in early stages of their career. He is the first man to make many women centric films and his Osey Ramulamma, is still the most popular Telugu woman centric action movie after Kartavyam.

Such a legend needs to proper memorial and the Director’s association in tandem with all the associations in Telugu Cine Industry, decided to inaugurate his life size statue and also declare, 4th May, his birthday as the Director’s Day. They will continue to observe this tradition every year and as a mark of respect for his work off the screen to solve the issues raised by various artists and workers in the field, most of them will be present at the event to honour the legend.
