Bhanu Bhogavarapu has delivered super hits like Samajavaragamana and Single as a writer. Now, he is all set to test his luck as a director with Mass Jathara. Produced by Naga Vamsi and starring Ravi Teja and Sreeleela, this mass entertainer has hit the screens with high expectations. Let’s see how much it impresses the audience.

Mass Jathara Story: Laxman (Ravi Teja) is an honest railway police officer who fearlessly faces any problem in his zone. He comes across Shiva (Naveen Chandra), who is forcing farmers in Srikakulam district to grow cannabis illegally. The story revolves around the challenges Laxman faces and how he overcomes them.

Performances: Ravi Teja perfectly fits the role of Laxman, bringing his trademark energy, dance, and mass appeal to the screen. Sreeleela looks good but is mostly limited to songs, and her close-up shots feel overdone. Naveen Chandra impresses again as a villain, though his character could have been stronger. Rajendra Prasad and Naresh’s comedy doesn’t land well, while Hyper Aadi and Ajay Ghosh try to entertain as comic villains.

Technical Aspects: Bheems Ceciroleo’s songs are catchy, but the background score could have been better. The repeated English rap feels confusing and distracts from key mass moments. Cinematography is decent, though the action blocks could have been shot more stylishly. The production design, artwork, and costumes are top-notch, and it’s clear that producer Naga Vamsi spared no expense.

Analysis: Director Bhanu Bhogavarapu has interesting ideas, like the railway station fight and the hero’s confrontation scenes, but their execution lacks impact. He struggles to maintain the right mass energy throughout the film.

Mass Jathara follows a routine commercial formula. While such films depend on a strong screenplay and presentation, Bhanu falls short in execution. The film has its moments, but it feels repetitive and loses steam at times. Still, Ravi Teja’s energy and screen presence manage to keep it watchable.

A regular mass entertainer elevated by Ravi Teja’s performance. The second half needed tighter editing and more emotional depth to connect with the audience. Some dialogues stand out, but the weak climax affects the overall impact. The chemistry between the lead pair is underdeveloped, and the humor feels forced in parts.

Verdict: Overall, Mass Jathara is a routine entertainer with a strictly few moments that click. Despite these flaws, Mass Jathara manages to deliver a few whistle-worthy moments for Ravi Teja fans.

Bottom Line: Only for Ravi Teja fans

Mass Jathara Rating: 2.5/5
