The writers’ strike in the USA has started taking a toll on upcoming films, including Marvel movies. According to reports, Marvel Studios has stopped the pre-production work on its upcoming vampire thriller feature film Blade starring Mahershala Ali. It becomes the first tentpole movie impacted by the strike.

Marvel had recently hired “True Detective” creator Nic Pizzolatto to work on the script but it was too late for the studio to avail his service due to the strike. The filming of “Blade” was set to begin next month in Atlanta, which has now been postponed till the strike is over.

Meanwhile, despite the delay in “Blade”, Marvel seems to be upping the ante with other upcoming movies as it is planning on having three movies shooting at the same time along with two series.

“Captain America: New World Order” is already in development and currently filming in Atlanta. “Deadpool 3” is all set to start rolling this month in London, while “Thunderbolts” is to hit Atlanta in June. The much-awaited “Fantastic Four” is expected to start filming in January 2024 in London.
