Nagarjuna and director Ram Gopal Varma made history with Shiva, a film that dared to go beyond the norms of Telugu cinema.
At a time when few believed in their vision they introduced Hollywood-style sound design, camera work and storytelling to Indian cinema.
The film not only became a cult classic in Telugu but also changed the direction of Indian filmmaking. Shiva made Ram Gopal Varma a sensational director and Nagarjuna a dream action hero.
Recently the makers have remastered the original film in 4K and upgraded the mono sound to Dolby Atmos. Known for his attention to perfection, Nagarjuna waited until the work was complete before announcing the release.
On the occasion of ANR’s 101st birth anniversary, Nagarjuna announced that Shiva 4K will release on 14th November.
He said, “My father believed cinema could live beyond generations. Bringing Shiva back in 4K Dolby Atmos honors his dream of keeping stories alive forever”.
On my dear father ANR ‘s birthday, I am pleased to announce the film that shook Indian cinema is coming back to shake the theaters again ❤️
