Mantra, the telugu film featuring Charmee as the lead actress, changed the perception of TFI producers and paved way for many women centric horror comedy stories. The song Mahaa Mahaa became highly popular from the film. After the initial buzz generated by the song, many makers even decided to add a special marketing songs for their films to promote them further. All this innovation needs to be credited to Osho Tulasiram, the man who directed the concept potently and launched a new genre of tollywood audience.
The film gave Charmee the confidence to star in many more women centric films and gave her the recognition what she enjoys today, apart from a glam doll image. His characters in Mantra and Mantra2 for his lead actresses were considered to be forward and more adventurous than most of the genre films which try to portray women has people without a backbone and who need some male chauvinist to support them through out.
As Mantra 2 did not work to the level expected Tulasiram went into an hiatus and whenever he chose to comeback there was some or the other road block in his path. Now he is back to the director’s chair, with another woman centric subject starring Archana, Sri Ramadasu fame.
