The actor recalls his tough times when he was criticized for not being the usual “hero” type after working in the industry for so long and receiving praise for his work.
Manoj, who was only seventeen years old, traveled to Delhi to enroll at the National School of Drama but was repeatedly turned down. In 1994, he performed in theatre and made his film debut in Drohkaal, playing a brief part. His big break came with the 1998 release of Satya by Ram Gopal Varma. Over twenty years have passed since then, and he has continued to create some incredible pieces of art.

Speaking on, Bajpayee recalled his early difficulties, particularly how the casting directors criticized him for his appearance. He said, “Chehre pe hi bol date the. Waise accha hua bol dete the, mauka nahi diya sochu ke kabhi bada hero banunga.” “People would comment that you neither look like a hero nor a villain. So they would always put me as a sidekick to the villain, not even the hero’s friend.” In the end, it’s the unwavering spirit of individuals like him that inspires others to follow their hearts and realize their aspirations, and his admirers are pleased that he disproved all the stereotypes by giving others hope.
