Manjummel Boys Team Paid Ilaiyaraaja A Huge Amount

Ilaiyaraaja won his case and the creators of the Malayalam film “Manjummel Boys” paid him Rs 60 lakhs. The film used a lot of Ilaiyaraaja’s music which played a big part in its success.

Because of this Ilaiyaraaja asked for payment for the use of his music.

The film referred to the 1991 Tamil movie “Gunaa”, starring Kamal Haasan and used the song “Kanmani Anbodu Kadhalan”.

Ilaiyaraaja who composed the song initially demanded Rs 2 crore for its use without his permission.

After some negotiation, Ilaiyaraaja agreed to settle for Rs 60 lakhs which the producers paid him. So Ilaiyaraaja received a significant amount for the use of his old song.
