Manisha Koirala recently shared that Shah Rukh Khan character in Mani Ratnam’s 1998 film “Dil Se” was originally not meant to die.
She preferred the first ending, where Shah Rukh’s character would let hers go, highlighting unfulfilled love rather than the tragic ending shown in theaters.
According to Manisha, this alternate ending would have added more depth to the story.
In an interview, Manisha explained, “In the original script, Shah Rukh’s character lets her die for a greater cause, but they changed it last minute”.
She felt this unfulfilled love story was more intriguing, saying, “Sometimes unrequited love is more meaningful than love that’s fulfilled in life or death”.
‘Dil Se’ is a timeless masterpiece, maturing with grace like a fine wine. With every rewatch, it casts a spell, leaving you entranced. As someone once beautifully said, ‘When cinema met art, we called it Dil Se.’#ShahRukhKhan#DilSe pic.twitter.com/tbypjhvIYZ https://t.co/Jsbc6b59eK
