St. Valentine is known for daring against Roman Emperor for the sake love and lovers. The 14th day of February month is usually celebrated to commemorate his contribution to world and then slowly it turned into a lover’s day. The day has become so part in human tradition that single people get irritated whenever they see couples or people falling in love on that given day. Honouring this tradition and idea of falling in love, many filmmakers have released their love sagas on the day in West and even in India.
Mani Ratnam, the master craftsman of Indian Cinema, after many experiments came back to his natural genre love and romance. He always made a romantic film whenever he decided to explore the box office side of this art form. Normally he always did maintain that he would like to explore cinema and stories more. But with films like Dil Se, Geetanjali, Mounaragam, Sakhi, Bombay, Roja and OK Bangaram he showcased his talent in showing the growth of love and the difference between love and lust very intimately and beautifully. He is the king of romantic dramas in India.
Even though he can make any kind of film, one feels that he has more comfort in demonstrating simple feeling on a broader canvas. Bringing another love story in his famous intimate style, Mani Ratnam, is making Kaatru Veliyidai with Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari. During the inception of the movie, it became a point of discussion that Sai Pallavi, famous Malar, turned down the opportunity politely as she doesn’t feel comfortable in doing highly intimate scenes on screen.
Since then there is lot of hush hush among the unit and none of the details have been leaked not even many working stills. Now the film, is said to be wrapping up a long schedule before Diwali giving time for Karthi to promote his release, Kashmora in both the languages telugu and tamil. The entire shoot of the film will be completed by the end of November and film will release for Valentine’s day, that is, Feb 14, 2017.
