Legendary Kollywood filmmaker Mani Ratnam is currently busy with post-production activities for the second part of the recently released period drama, Ponniyin Selvan. As PS-1 ended up as one of the highest grossers in Tamil, the hype for the second part is very high among moviegoers and trade circles.
Already the team revealed that PS-2 will be out on April 18th. While everyone is thinking that the promotional activities for PS-2 will kick-start soon, the latest reports suggest that the film’s release date is postponed indefinitely. An official confirmation regarding the same is likely to be out soon.
On the other hand, news also circulated that after checking the rushes of PS-2 on the editing table, Mani Ratnam felt that a few key portions required to be re-shot. However, there is no official confirmation regarding it later. Starring Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Prakash Raj, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Shobita Dhulipala among others in prominent roles, Ponniyin Selvan is Mani Ratnam’s ambitious project.
The film is a visual presentation of legendary Tamil author Kalki Krishnamurthy’s novel of the same title. AR Rahman is the music composer for the film. Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies in association with Lyca Productions produced the prestigious project.
