Manamey is Sharwanand‘s latest movie which has been directed by Sriram Aditya. Also, featuring Krithi Shetty as the female lead, this film has hit the screens today. Let’s review it here.

Story: Vikram(Sharwanand) and Anurag(Trigun) are close friends in London. As Anurag and his wife pass away in an accident, the responsibility of the kid falls on Vikram and Subhadra(Krithi Shetty), who is a friend of Anurag’s wife. Vikram and Subhadra start a new life with the baby. Vikram is a careless man with the baby and Subhadra is very caring. How such a couple clear thier differences, fall in love with each other and own the baby is the basic story of the film.

Performances: Sharwanand is a live wire in the film and his hyper active performance is the driving force of Manamey. Be it his looks, dialogue delivery or the emotions he shows in the last half an hour, he was superb and will charm the audience. Krithi Shetty looks gorgeous and does her role quite well. Her chemistry with Sharwa was also cool in the film. The little kid played by Vikramaditya is cute and is an added bonus to the film. The rest of the cast such as Tulasi, Sita, Rahul Ramakrishna, were okay. Shiva Kandukuri plays a special role and he was neat in the film.

Technical Aspects: Manamey is a musical romantic drama that has amazing music by Hesham Abdul Wahab. There are multiple songs and all of them nicely take the film forward. But the background music of the film was amazing. The entire film is shot in London and the camera work is amazing and makes the film look rich. The editing is not that great as close to fifteen minutes could have been chopped of to make things better. The story of the film is quite ordinary and has nothing new to showcase.

Analysis: Manamey is a feel good romantic drama set in London. The premise has great scope for comedy, romance and strong emotions. But one could say that director Sriram Aditya did not make use of it to the fullest.

Despite having a lovely lead couple of Sharwa and Krithi Shetty, the makers did not induce proper romance. But having said that Manamey has many feel good moments of fun.

The first half of the film is quite entertaining and all credit goes to Sharwa. The second half is where the film faulters. From the time Shiva Kandukuri makes an entry, things become routine. Rather than focusing on the romance, the director deviates the film and brings in the characters of Vijay Kumar and Zarina Wahab.

The romantic thread is also not elevated well in the pre climax and this takes things down in the second half. But the climax is handled well and the film ends on a predictable but decent note. The film good moments and will attract the family audience.

Verdict: Overall, Manamey is a decent family drama that has a routine story but Sharwanand is superb and holds your attention. Though the proceedings are predictable, the feel good moments and songs make it a passable watch this weekend.

Bottom Line – Decent Family Drama
