It is well-known that the Andhra Pradesh government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been continuing the Covid restrictions across the state. While the Telangana government has lifted the Covid restrictions completely in August, the AP government is still continuing the Covid lockdown with night curfew from 10 PM to 6 AM.
The theatres across the Andhra Pradesh are running with 50% occupancy after the Covid second wave crisis. Meanwhile, the latest we hear is that the state government will be continuing the night curfew in the state in October month also. Reportedly, the theatres protocol with the 50% occupancy will also remain to be same in October month.
This news comes as a major disappointment for all the movies which are scheduled for a theatrical release in October and during the Dussehra festival season. Adding to it, the Andhra Pradesh government is yet to take a decision on the ticket prices issue. Will the buyers of notable films such as Konda Polam, Most Eligible Bachelor, Maha Samudram, Varudu Kaavalenu among others able to recover the invested amount amid the restrictions in the Andhra Pradesh? Remains to be seen.
