Mutlistarrers were commonplace in Tollywood until a few decades ago, where actors like NTR and ANR, NTR and Krishna, ANR and Krishna, and so many other actors would pair up together for films. However, as Tollywood entered the commercial space, this trend slowly died down, with multistarrers becoming a rare thing, and actors sticking to their own films.
However, Superstar Mahesh Babu and Venkatesh’s Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu brought back the multistarrer trend in Telugu cinema, post which several multistarrers have taken place. The biggest multistarrer is currently underway, in the form of Rajamouli’s RRR, where NTR and Ram Charan will be sharing screen space with each other.
According to the latest reports, Superstar Mahesh Babu and the multi-faceted Kamal Haasan may soon pair up for a film together. Tamil director AR Murugadoss is said to have written a script where Kamal will be seen playing the father of a girl, and Mahesh will be seen playing a CBI officer. Mahesh is said to have been impressed by Murugadoss’s narration, who is said to have narrated just a single line so far. The director is said to be developing the script currently, and the film is expected to go on floors once Mahesh and Kamal are done with their current commitments if everything goes according to plan. In case this turns out to be true, then it will be one of the biggest multistarrers in the Indian Film Industry itself, and fans would have a great time.
