Maharashtra Cancels Alcohol Permit For Diljit Dosanjh’s Pune Concert

Diljit Dosanjh‘s concert in Pune faced a major problems when the Maharashtra excise department canceled the permit for alcohol at the event.

The concert which was planned in Kothrud on Sunday was disrupted after local political leaders and residents raised concerns about the sale of alcohol, noise pollution, and traffic issues.

The controversy started when Kothrud’s new BJP MLA, Chandrakant Patil, along with other community members, expressed their worries about the event affecting public peace.

In response to these concerns, state excise commissioner Charan Singh Rajput explained that a report was submitted to the superintendent office, leading to the decision to deny permission for alcohol sales at the event.

The owner of Kakade Farms, Suryakant Kakade, also submitted a letter asking for the cancellation of the permit. Chandrakant Patil criticized the event, stating that it wasn’t just about the alcohol but also the traffic congestion and noise pollution that such events cause, disrupting peace and the environment.
