Telugu Cinema Industry has been lucky enough to see great actresses like Anjali Devi, Bhanumathi, Savitri, Jamuna, Sridevi, Jayapradha, Jayasudha, Soundarya, Ramyakrishnan and Anushka, Samantha Akkineni are on their way to stay in the same league as the above mentioned. An actress is filled with many compromises on health, family life and has heart breaks too. Bringing such a complex story of a woman rising to the highest level of fame in a male dominated society is a huge challenge.
Mahanati makers have taken on that challenge to bring Savitri’s life on to celluloid and give a huge tribute to the legendary actress. Naga Ashwin decided to go for huge research and tried to get as much information as he can gather on the actress to introduce her to the latest generation and make it a memorable tribute for her memory. Unfortunately, we recently lost Sridevi, another legendary actress and hence, the makers have decided that the movie will be a tribute to the spirit of strong women.
So, they are releasing the film on 9th May, which will be a tribute to Sridevi. Her film, Jagadeeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, from the same production house, Vyjayanthi movies, released on 9th May too, 28 years ago. The movie made her the angelic diva that many remember her in Telugu. Keerthy Suresh, Dulquer Salman, Naga Chaitanya as ANR, Mohan Babu as SVR, Samantha Akkineni, Shalini Pandey, Malavika Nair are playing key roles in this movie. Mickey J. Mayer is composing music for the film.
