Mahanati gets tax exemption

Mahanati, the movie about the legendary actress, Savitri garu has become the talk of the town in Telugu films. Movie made everyone from the film fraternity also proud as this is said to be an achievement for Telugu Cinema itself that a great tribute has been given to the golden era of Cinema by the younger generation keeping Savitri garu as a symbol of Telugu culture and growth, cinematically.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh decided to felicitate the entire Mahanati team and they awarded Keerthy Suresh, director Nag Ashwin, producers Swapna Dutt, Priyanka Dutt and other team members momentos to honour their work. Keerthy Suresh said, “It is a pleasure for me to be able to act as a legend on screen and that movie becoming so famous and bringing me so many accolades is like the best blessings of such a great soul, Savitri Amma.”

In the event, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandra Babu Naidu participated and he said, “Savitri garu reached a place like NTR and she made a name for herself among the Telugu households like no one else could. I am happy that such good film has been made as a tribute to such great actress.” In the event, Government declared the movie to be Tax free in Andhra Pradesh and henceforth, the movie will only have to pay GST but no SGST for the film. Samantha, Dulquer Salmaan, Vijay Devarakonda couldn’t attend as they were busy in shoots. Vijaya Chamundeswari daughter of Savitri garu thanked the team, Mahanati once again once making such a memorable film at the event.
